The Hidden Essence of Passion and Determination

If you have passion but no determination then you will end up thinking about what could have been. If you have determination but no passion you can be very successful, but your life will be unfulfilled. You will look tired and stressed and have no real love for the work you are doing.
To be successful and enjoy life you need both: Passion and Determination.
Passion is a strong emotion that happens when you actively work towards your dream, and are doing meaningful work that makes you feel better about yourself. You then need to take more action and combine passion with determination.
There are no overnight successes, but there are people who have come into the light after many years of pursuing their passion with determination. The great boxer, Muhammad Ali summed it up in these words, “The fight is won or lost far away from witnesses - behind the lines, in the gym, and out there on the road, long before I dance under those lights.”
What’s your passion? What is it that you really, REALLY want to do with your life?
Once you have identified your passion, all you need is the determination to become good at it. And the result: SUCCESS.
It’s not about abandoning all you have achieved; it’s about finding a way of doing whatever it is that will make you happy, and at the same time bringing in enough revenue to meet your needs.
What’s the next step? What small step can you take that will lead you to your dream? Work out a plan of action and take each step one at a time.
Now it’s all down to DETERMINATION. The more determined you are the more successful you will be. It may take a while, and be prepared for an uphill climb, but successful you will be.
The one personal characteristic that is highly correlated with success, whatever the field, is determination. Be persistent. The ability to get knocked down a dozen times and still get back up fighting will bring you closer to success. You must have the will-power to keep going until you achieve your goal.
Say your passion is photography and you want to run a successful photography business; you will need lots of determination. Start by building up your portfolio and getting your name out there. Then practice, practice and practice some more. Stay focused and determined, and in a few years you will have a very successful business. And you will be LIVING YOUR DREAM.
