Empowering you with activities ideas for your friends or family will be another theme of our great Self Improvement Ideas Project. To get more information about Craft Ideas for Teens, read on.
Many teens may think that they are too old to do crafts. While that may be true about making animals out of paper plates, there are plenty of crafts that can be great for teens to do.
The key to finding a good craft idea for teens is that the finished project has to be useful. No teen wants to make something that will only be displayed on the refrigerator. They want to show off their skills!
The following craft ideas are fun to do and have impressive results. Many take a long time to master, but the end product is worth it.
- Knitting. No longer just for little old ladies, knitting has become increasingly popular among the young crowd. There are many books that can teach you how to knit and have patterns for trendy products (kitty ear hats anyone?). Better yet, have grandma teach you how to knit. It’s a great way to spend some quality time with her.
- Jewelry making. Jewelry can be made from wire, beads, or string. There’s a lot of info online about how to make jewelry. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll have a steady supply of handmade gifts. Or, you may even want to make some extra cash selling your pieces online or at a craft fair. This is one of the most popular craft ideas for teens.
- Decoupage. This is just a fancy word that means cutting out pictures and gluing them to things. You can decoupage a table, a phone, your book covers…just about anything. If you get started in this, nothing will be safe.
- Tie-dye. It’s not just for hippies. Tie-dying is fun to do with a group of friends. For brighter colors, squirt the dye directly onto the clothes rather than dipping it into a bucket of dye. Don’t stop with just t-shirts…you can also tie-dye underwear and socks!
- Soap or candle making. Soap and candles make excellent gifts for your family and friends. While some styles may be difficult to make, there are many kits to help you get started in no time at all. You can even customize the scents. Be careful though—the wax can be very hot.
- Sewing. Once only for housewives, sewing has become increasingly popular with the DIY crowd. Start out easy by reworking clothes that you already have—add patches to a pair of jeans or make an old t-shirt cool again. When you have the basics down, it’s easy to move on to other projects.
- Glue things. Glue gems to a picture frame or mini-mirrors to a pen-holder. Heck, go crazy and glue a bunch of fake flowers to the toilet seat (ask mom first). This can be a great way to make creative gifts for your friends.
- Make your own make-up. You can create new colors by mixing the colors that you already have. Or make a lip gloss using Vaseline and Kool Aid. Check online for more advanced techniques.
- Scrapbooking. What better way to preserve your memories with your friends than by creating a scrapbook. Scrapbooking is an addictive hobby that many people love. It’s perfect for those who like to take pictures. It gives you a way to showcase your talents.
- Stamping. You can use stamps to create many types of products—stationery, wrapping paper, even cards. Combine this with embossing powder and a heat tool and you’ll have very elegant products.
Once teens start crafting, it’s hard to make them stop. Soon, they’ll be looking for ways to turn almost anything into a craft. I hope these craft ideas for teens were useful.

I’m sure this website and its ideas are not meant to offend anyone, but to simply help those that are looking for ideas.
Many online users are too quick to slam others and are looking for things to get upset about. It’s easy to be mean and rude when one doesn’t have to take responsibility for one’s behavior because of online anonymity; no one knows who you are. If you have a real complaint, try using proper grammer, get creative, and avoid using common trash talk and vulgarity. Take time to think about what you are really upset about before reacting. It seems to me that you were intending to offend, not the other way around.

hey mumble, chill! ok? I mean, it’s just suggestions, nothing bad. You don’t like them, fine, but you don’t have to get angry.
Even I’m not agreeing with all these suggestions but you got to chill, right? I do not like the suggestions but I’m not angry. Go Easy!

Excuse me but this is retarded. I am a teen.
We are not cute little blobs of angst to be manipulated by obnoxious webmasters.
The smart ones of us will do things on our own, I blacksmith, woodturn, glassfuse, f… with my computer, and knit. But the one thing we hate is have things like this thrown at us by retarded blogs.
